Overview
This project features a high-performance 924 kW-DC / 780 kW-AC solar installation on Windward Mall — the second-largest mall in Honolulu and a 15-year host of the Plenty of Aloha Farmer's Market. The system enhances sustainability, reduces energy costs, and withstands Hawaii's challenging coastal environment.
The build pairs 2,736 Longi LR-672HV-340M modules with 13 Delta M60U inverters on Sollega's FastRack 510-6dg. The pre-assembled, tool-free racking significantly accelerated installation, ensuring a seamless build with minimal disruption to mall operations.
Hawaii's high salt spray and humidity demand a racking solution that resists corrosion, and the FR510-6dg — crafted from UV-resistant BASF Ultramid — delivers the long-term durability needed to protect system performance and investment. Its lightweight, modular design cut labor hours and eliminated the need for heavy machinery, while the ballasted layout minimized roof penetrations and preserved the mall's structural integrity in high-wind conditions. A 6° tilt optimized solar exposure and energy yield, and integrated wire management improved safety and reduced installation complexity.
